The v1.2 6 car powerbase is the oldest of the devices 'in the wild' They can be easily recognised, as the 'start button' points in the wrong direction. Cars must pass over the powerbase in right to left direction, to register their laps correctly. The start button points to the right - this was corrected in later versions.
