The early v1.2 6 way powerbase suffered terribly from blown drivers. Judging by the board design, some business decisions to cut costs appear to have reduced the reliablilty by only one-half of a two-in-a-paired drive design.
It is now considered fruitless to repair v1.2 boards, as much higher levels of power are required for 6 car racing. And if only 4 or less cars are required, then a PB4 is a better choice.
